U.S. chip manufacturer Qualcomm announced the acquisition of Israeli startup EPOS, a provider of digital input solutions. EPOS’ technology is integrated into mobile devices such as tablets, smartphones and laptops, enabling them to use a pen-stylus. This follows Qualcomm’s earlier acquisition of DesignArt Networks for $140 million in August, and in 2010, iSkoot for $60-$80 million. Qualcomm has a development center in Haifa. According to its own data, the number of Qualcomm employees in Israel increased by 50 percent over the past two years, to 270. | |
