- 1991: Applied Materials entered the Israeli market through the opening of a technology center in the country.
- 1997: The Process Diagnostics Business (PDC) Group in Israel was launched when Applied Materials acquired 2 Israeli companies - Orbot and Opal.
- 2001: Applied materials acquired 2 additional Israeli companies: Oramir Materials – a developer of a cleaning device for silicon wafers and Schlumberger's E-Beam inspection unit – a developer of electron-beam wafer inspection.
- 2003: Applied Materials Ventures invested in FlexLight Networks, Inc., an optical access pioneer.
- 2004: Applied Materials Ventures invested in M-Stream Inc., a developer of cellular phone technologies for $8 million.
- 2006: Applied Materials Israel signs 500million NIS deal with China's SMIC to supply them systems developed and produced in Israel.
